After a successful 2011 thanks to numerous volunteers, instuctors, staff, donors, board members and community leaders, planning is well under way for an exciting 2012 season. As the region's largest golf based youth development organization, we need your support to grow and better serve area youth. Hogan's Junior Golf Heroes - The First Tee of Omaha operates Steve Hogan Golf Course and conducts Golf & Life Skills programming at the golf course, in schools, at Offutt Air Base and throughout the metro area.

  Hogan Tournament Well Supported
The 2nd Annual Steve Hogan Memorial Golf Tournament was quite a success thanks to over 30 sponsors, 84 golfers and numerous volunteers! With presenting sponsors ConAgra Foods and DMSI, Inc. leading the way, contributions by numerous companies and individuals made this inspiring event possible. "It was heart warming to see supporters from such a wide variety of backgrounds come out and participate to help us continue to keep Steve's dream of useing "golf as the hook" to make a difference in the lives of children live on," Board President Danette Hogan commented.
 
Annual Awards Announced
The dinner and awards event following the 2nd Annual Steve Hogan Memorial Golf Tournament wrapped up a wonderful day in style when the Male and Female Participant of the Year and Volunteer of the Year awards were presented. 6th grader Tanner Muhlecke and 19th grade student Tiffanie Yabut accepted the Participant of the Year Award, which recognizes a standout student that exemplifies our Nine Core Values on and off the golf course. For his committment to excellence through practice and tireless efforts in providing guidance to youth, volunteer instructor Bob Walls received the 2011 Volunteer of the Year Award.
 
  Alumni Team Wins 2nd Annual Tournament
Four graduates of the Hogan's Junior Golf Heroes - The First Tee of Omaha program put into practice what the learned growing up by posting the top score of 16 under par at Elmwood Park Golf Course to edge out a foursome from Heritage Financial Services by a stroke. The foursome of college students Brandi Smith, JP Baker, Brandon Williams and Guy Smith return to the program each summer to pass on their winning ways to the next generation of junior golfers at Steve Hogan Golf Course. While the Alumni team earned first place, the real winners are the children and youth we serve throughout the year at our Golf & Life Skills clinics.
