Interested in volunteering?

Volunteer orientation and coach trainings take place throughout the year.  Typically, new volunteers and coaches assemble more often in the spring to begin preparations for the another fun summer program. If interested in becoming an active volunteer with The First Tee of Omaha, please first submit the volunteer engagement form accessible here.  Once the volunteer engagement form has been submitted, a member of our team will make contact with you to set up a time for a brief orientation.  At that time or prior to, our organization will seek your authorization to perform a background check.  Background checks are required for all active volunteers.    

"Volunteer of the Year" Announced - Congrats Coach David!

Each year, our chapter acknowledges the dedication and effort put forth by our entire volunteer team by recognizing a "Volunteer of the Year."   Congratulations to Coach David G., the recipient of this year's honor.   David displayed exceptional commitment to our south Omaha programming at Spring Lake GC and sincerely enjoyed working with all of the participating youth.  Nice work David!  

Volunteers earn nominations for "Volunteer of the Year"!

Every summer and throughout the year, our programs are positively impacted by generous and committed volunteers who give willingly of their time and energy to benefit the youth participating.  During our summer program, it has become tradition to award volunteer of the week honors and make special mention of volunteers doing extraordinary things.  "Volunteer of the Week" award recipients are then nominated for the "Volunteer of the Year" award, acknowledged at the end of the season.  This year's nominees for "Volunteer of the Year" are: Brooke S., David G., Russ R., David P., Greg J., and Lana P. 

Volunteers assist with area golf tournaments and golf shows!

Volunteers from The First Tee of Omaha assist mainly with youth programming efforts carried out year round in the greater Omaha area. On occasion, volunteer support is needed to bolster and enhance area golf shows and golf tournaments. Hundreds of volunteers supported the Cox Classic, the US Senior Open and other major events in year's past. In 2015, volunteers from The First Tee of Omaha assisted with the Nebraska Golf Show in March and provided added support for the Nebraska Golf Association during the Nebraska State Amateur Championship held in July.

Nebraska Golf Show in Omaha March 5-6!

The Nebraska Golf Show will be held March 5-6 at the CenturyLink Center in downtown Omaha!  Varsity Communications  is currently seeking volunteers to help out during the show.  Those interested can learn more by visiting the Nebraska Golf Show website.
