Coaches trained to positively impact youth!

A trained coach can positively impact more youth in a year than an average person does in a lifetime. All of our assistant coaches and Level 1 coaches first complete the Assistant Coach Training eLearning course developed by The First Tee. The goal of these trainings, and the hands on trainings that occur at the chapter, is to equip coaches with resources and techniques so they can positively impact the youth we are privileged to serve at The First Tee of Omaha.

Volunteers assist with area golf tournaments and golf shows!

Volunteers from The First Tee of Omaha assist mainly with youth programming efforts carried out year round in the greater Omaha area. On occasion, volunteer support is needed to bolster and enhance area golf shows and golf tournaments. Hundreds of volunteers supported the Cox Classic, the US Senior Open and other major events in year's past. In 2015, volunteers from The First Tee of Omaha assisted with the Nebraska Golf Show in March and provided added support for the Nebraska Golf Association during the Nebraska State Amateur Championship held in July.

Interested in volunteering or coaching?

Volunteer orientation and coach trainings take place throughout the year.  Typically, new volunteers and coaches assemble more often in the spring to begin preparations for the another fun summer program. If interested in becoming an active volunteer coach with The First Tee of Omaha, please first submit the volunteer engagement form accessible here.  Once the volunteer engagement form has been submitted, a member of our team will make contact with you to set up a time for a brief orientation.  At that time or prior to, our organization will seek your authorization to perform a background check.  Background checks are required for all active volunteers.

"Volunteer of the Year" 2015 - Congrats Coach David!

Each year, our chapter acknowledges the dedication and effort put forth by our entire volunteer team by recognizing a "Volunteer of the Year."   Congratulations to Coach David G., the recipient of the 2015 award.   David displayed exceptional commitment to our south Omaha programming at Spring Lake GC and sincerely enjoyed working with all of the participating youth.  Nice work David!
